Multiple Account Associations to 1 Task

When testing account association, we want to have our settings set to a single activity. However, when simulating in the AI Activity Mapper Settings, multiple Accounts are still associated. How do we know which one of these will be the Account with the record rather than just the additional related opportunities?

Please let me know if I am incorrect, but I believe there will only be 1 contact and 1 account on the record, and then multiple Gong__Associated_Opportunities__c & Gong__Gong_Participants_Emails__c but no field for additionally associated accounts.

Hi @Kaitlyn Taylor

Even if the AI Activity Mapper Settings simulator shows multiple associated Accounts, only one Account is written to the activity record in CRM.

What gets written to the activity record

  • One Account

  • One Contact

  • Additional context is captured via:

    • Gong__Associated_Opportunities__c (multiple related opportunities)

    • Gong__Gong_Participants_Emails__c (all participant emails)

There is no field for multiple associated Accounts on the activity record.

Why multiple Accounts appear in the simulator

The simulator shows all Accounts that qualify during the association process, including:

  • Accounts tied to participating CRM Contacts

  • Email domain to Account website matches

  • Related or parent Accounts

These are evaluated candidates, not final CRM writes.

How the primary Account is chosen

When multiple Accounts qualify, Gong selects one primary Account based on your configuration, such as:

  • Number of CRM Contacts involved

  • Account owner participation (if enabled)

  • Other AI Activity Mapper filters

The remaining Accounts only contribute related Opportunities or participant context.

How to confirm behavior

Use the Activity Simulator and review your AI Activity Mapper settings to see which Account is prioritized under your current rules.

In short: multiple Accounts can be evaluated, but only one Account is written to the activity record.

I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have follow up questions.
