We have a list of current customers that we’d like to target to upgrade to our latest product. We want to track activity of those accounts, and the best place to do so seems like building out a Deal Board. However, I can’t find a way to build a board that includes the 42 accounts we have in our list.

Is there a way to manually select which accounts are included in a Deal Board?

Hey Will! Thanks for your patience. I consulted with some Gongsters and here’s what they said:

  1. Deal boards are based on Opportunities and not Accounts (but assuming you’re interested in the opportunities for those accounts)
  2. There is no way to manually select opportunities that show up in a deal board.

That being said, the way to do this is:

  1. Create a field in Salesforce on the Opportunity object that lets you tag opportunities (e.g. Tier 1 or Top 42 etc.)
  2. Use that as a way to build a deal board that filters to these account

Caveat - If you want to select accounts and not opportunities (you have accounts with no opportunities, like at the top of the funnel), this won't work.

Still getting some second opinions on this, but wanted to share in the meantime! Please let me know if this was helpful 🙂
