I’m not currently a frontline manager, but I’m looking to move into a similar role soon, so I’m keen to make the most of the resources available. I’ve started with Gong Academy to build strong foundations early.

What do you hope to learn while completing the study guide?
How to use Gong effectively to get the most value from the platform, so I can better support the team and help people grow through more consistent coaching.

What is one takeaway you're hoping to gain from the certification process?
A practical coaching toolkit I can apply with a Customer Success team, including frameworks, best practices, and ways to use Gong insights to drive improvement.

If you had to sum it up in a few sentences, how are you currently coaching your direct reports?
Regular one-on-ones, creating a safe space for people to raise challenges and talk through roadblocks, and supporting them in the moment. At the moment it’s a bit ad hoc, so I’m looking to make it more structured and repeatable.

Which frontline manager certification are you working on? What do you hope to learn while completing the study guide?

I am working on the Frontline Manager Foundation Certification. I hope to learn additional features and get a more in depth knowledge of the gong tool, especially in a company where we work around the globe, across languages, timezones and cultures.

What is one takeaway you're hoping to gain from the certification process?

To make sure I use the tools at my disposal and also to be able to push forward my team with using the tool in the most proper way.

If you had to sum it up in a few sentences, how are you currently coaching your direct reports?

As for now, it is mostly coaching through example, sharing interesting use cases when they arise and answering questions. Through this training I would like to be more proactive.

Hi! You’ve reached a topic specifically for folks working through a frontline manager study guide. These leaders are working toward becoming Gong certified! If you’re a people manager and want to learn more about certification, please click here!

Hello frontline managers – welcome to the Gong Community! As we talked about in the Academy, being Gong certified means regularly connecting with other Gong users, helping answer questions, learning from one another, and sharing your own ideas and best practices.

Another awesome aspect of the Community is that it connects you directly with Gongsters (aka, the folks who work at Gong). We pop in all the time to share news, answer questions, provide tips and tricks, and jump into conversations with our customers.

To kick off your involvement in the Gong Community (and your journey to becoming a Gong-certified frontline manager), answer at least one of the following questions:

  1. Which frontline manager certification are you working on? What do you hope to learn while completing the study guide?
  2. What is one takeaway you're hoping to gain from the certification process?
  3. If you had to sum it up in a few sentences, how are you currently coaching your direct reports?

(If you want to answer more than one, that’s okay—feel free to share as much as you’d like!)

Congrats on getting involved in the Visioneer Community! Feel free to pop back over to Gong Academy when you’re finished to keep learning.

I am looking for best practices to incorporate Gong into my day to day routines to coach but also to have more data about my business with less investigative work. Ultimately I want to be confident in what my team is doing, how our customers are perceiving our engagements, and have the tools to coach effectively.

  1. Which frontline manager certification are you working on? What do you hope to learn while completing the study guide?
    1. I’m working on the Frontline Manager Certification
  2. What is one takeaway you're hoping to gain from the certification process?
    1. I’m looking for a few things - resources that can help my team more effectively prospect using the tool, reporting that can help me track progress and messaging effectiveness, and how the tool operates so that I can help onboard new reps and answer ongoing questions.
  3. If you had to sum it up in a few sentences, how are you currently coaching your direct reports?
    1. I’m a frontline manager, meaning that I’m often on calls with my reps. I generally try to schedule pre-meeting syncs, and post-meeting debriefs so that we have a strong game plan, and can talk about ways to be more effective. Team always needs help on forecasting, so trying some different strategies to help them better understand the health of a deal.
