My team onboards and trains new customers on our software. Currently we share every training recording with our customers in a Box folder so they can revisit and review. We are hoping to move away from using Box and, instead, share the recordings using Gong. The challenge we’re running into is that we can’t seem to find an easy way to share them in an organized fashion so our customers can find all of their recordings in one folder. Has anyone else figured out a way to make this happen?
This is an awesome question,
Hey Brady,
Love to see others enthusiastic about using Gong to record and share their trainings as this is what my team and I do every day. The short answer to your question is that there unfortunately isn’t a super organized way to do this with Gong itself. You’ll ultimately be sharing the calls individually however that doesn’t mean that it can’t still be an organized experience for your customer.
What I’m envisioning is that for each training/onboarding call you’ll create the customer share link to the call and then put that link in a location the customer can access, whether its a Google Doc or more sophisticated forum, so that all of the links to their trainings are in one, commonly accessible spot but that you’re only sharing a link vs the actual file.
Since I feel bad that I wasn’t able to give you the answer you might have been hoping for, perhaps I can make up for it with this fun tip when sharing a call with a customer:
I often find myself with a combination of dead air, internal banter before the customer joins or small talk at the beginning of a recording that I don’t necessarily want to share. The best way to only share the piece of the call that you wish to is to advance the playback cursor to the spot where you want the shared piece to begin and then go to the top right Share Call menu and select “Share with Customers” and then on the popup flip the toggle to “Share a snippet of the call” and you’ll see that the left bookend of the shared piece is where you left the cursor in the call playback. You can then click the Edit button to extend the access period before generating the sharable link to place in the desired location.
Let me know if you have any additional questions on this!
