Question

Duplicate Salesforce tasks for Gong calls

Forum|alt.badge.img

Hi,

We have Gong setup to create a Salesforce task when a Gong/Zoom call is completed. The problem is if there are multiple contacts from the prospect company on the call then it creates a task for each person. This skews reporting and shows us as having completed more meetings than we actually have.

Does anyone have a solution for this?

Hi @Claire.Hummingbird! Gong writes back to the Account, Lead, Opportunity and Contact objects to provide insights for revenue intelligence. In addition to the out of the box reports and dashboards, Gong provides data so you can create reports based on your need.

From my experience the best solution is to modify your reporting to pull in Gong information from an account level, not contact. You can also group calls by the conversation ID rather than tasks.  =

On the Salesforce side, an admin would be to remove the task from the contact object,  I do not recommend doing that because you will lose insights and other reports would become invalid.
