In Gong’s Salesforce integration settings, you can filter the Gong calls that are exported to Salesforce. However, the “Is Private?” flag is NOT available in the list of filters.

FEATURE REQUEST: Please allow private calls to be filtered out of calls exported to Salesforce.

QUESTION: Any workarounds? I’ve implemented a Salesforce validation rule that prevents Gong Conversation records from being created in Salesforce if the Is Private flag is set to true. That generally works, but it may cause problems if Gong sends a batch of records over to Salesforce and one (or more) call records are private (the other non-offending records would also fail due to rollback of the entire batch).

Our Support team offered a potential workaround: 

Data Protection & Privacy >> Add email exclude import settings

You can add domains, email addresses and prevent emails from being imported based on words in the subject line.

The workaround offered by the Support team is not quite what I’m looking for.

I’d like to prevent meeting recordings from being exported to Salesforce.

The workaround from Support applies to emails being imported into Gong.


 

Hi @Michael Lu! Got some clarity around your question:

For excluding a user from exporting their activities into Salesforce from Gong, we don’t have any current methods to turn this off for an individual user, as this setting is tied to all users in a company.

You can exclude having web conference calls and telephony calls from being exported as tasks into Salesforce from Gong by making sure that these settings aren’t applied under Company Settings >> Salesforce Export to Salesforce as Tasks >> Conference Calls and Telephony system Calls aren’t selected.
