How to get a field to replace Owner in Deals?

Currently Owners can not be replaced by other fields in the CRM. How would you make a field from the CRM a user field, so you can replace the owner field with a field like ‘Sales Engineer’?

You can replace the Owner field with other fields from your CRM by following these steps:

  1. Make sure you have mapped the other user type fields in the CRM section of your settings. This example is from HubSpot. 

 

Manage Fields

 

Choose Fields

 

  1. Wait!  While the field shows up immediately, the field values (i.e. users names) take some time for Gong to populate.
     
  2. Edit your Deal Board to select one of the new fields you just added. 

     

 

      4. View the deal board. 

 

Caveat:

If a deal does not have a value for the selected field (e.g. Attributed SDR) it will not show in the deal board, and you will see different deals and aggregated amounts than using the Owner field.
