Hi! You’ve reached a topic specifically for folks working through a frontline manager study guide. These leaders are working toward becoming Gong certified! If you’re a people manager and want to learn more about certification, please click here!

Hello frontline managers – welcome to the Gong Community! As we talked about in the Academy, being Gong certified means regularly connecting with other Gong users, helping answer questions, learning from one another, and sharing your own ideas and best practices.

Another awesome aspect of the Community is that it connects you directly with Gongsters (aka, the folks who work at Gong). We pop in all the time to share news, answer questions, provide tips and tricks, and jump into conversations with our customers.

To kick off your involvement in the Gong Community (and your journey to becoming a Gong-certified frontline manager), answer at least one of the following questions:

  1. Which frontline manager certification are you working on? What do you hope to learn while completing the study guide?
  2. What is one takeaway you're hoping to gain from the certification process?
  3. If you had to sum it up in a few sentences, how are you currently coaching your direct reports?

(If you want to answer more than one, that’s okay—feel free to share as much as you’d like!)

Congrats on getting involved in the Visioneer Community! Feel free to pop back over to Gong Academy when you’re finished to keep learning.

Which frontline manager certification are you working on? What do you hope to learn while completing the study guide? I’m working on the Frontline Manager Foundation Certification, and I hope to learn how I can increase the effectiveness of my team!

Which frontline manager certification are you working on? What do you hope to learn while completing the study guide?

I am taking the Frontline Manager Foundation Certification. Although I do not directly oversee a go-to-market team, I serve as a strategic collaborator with the Head of Customer Success, Head of Sales, and the entire commercial organization (all customer-facing roles). My aim is to enhance my coaching abilities and ensure Gong's full potential is realized.

  1. What is one takeaway you're hoping to gain from the certification process? I would love to have a structured framework I can use to coach CSMs to be more effective in their calls. Ideally tailored towards driving action with the customer.

What is one takeaway you're hoping to gain from the certification process?

I’m aiming to have a structured scalable framework I can use to train and coach new-hires as well as seasoned reps from our BDR, Sales and CSM teams to be more collaborative, effective and aligned.

What is one takeaway you're hoping to gain from the certification process?

My one takeaway I’m hoping to gain would be how to best utilize the Gong platform and ensure new and current users of the system are fully versed on utilizing Gong to improve performance, efficiency, and accuracy!

  1. What is one takeaway you're hoping to gain from the certification process?  Trying to ensure i help enable managers on how to coach their teams

  1. What is one takeaway you're hoping to gain from the certification process

How to leverage Gong to have more efficient sales processes, improve customer interactions, make informed decisions, and understand training needs.

  1. If you had to sum it up in a few sentences, how are you currently coaching your direct reports?

I’ve got a decent baseline using Gong for coaching my team, but I want to improve my process. Currently I select calls for team members from the prior week, listen and provide feedback over Zoom or via a DM. I’d like to automate some coaching so it’s provided more frequently and be more consistent and efficient with my coaching.

What is one takeaway you're hoping to gain from the certification process?

Gong is full of information and has a wide array of ways to analyze engagement data, I’m hoping to uncover more efficient ways of uncovering this information and using it to coach FLLs so we can continue riding this rocket. Each day I focus on learning something about our Reps inside Gong, I seem to find a new nugget, so I want to be more efficient with my team and push the boundaries of how we leverage Gong.

What is one takeaway you're hoping to gain from the certification process?

I hope to master AI-backed new features in Gong I can implement to take the coaching to the next level.

  1. What is one takeaway you're hoping to gain from the certification process?

Selfishly, I’m going to list two. The first is to make sure that I’m using Gong to its full advantage.  Our company is investing in us, and I want to ensure a positive ROI.  Secondly, I truly believe that part of my responsibility as a leader is to shield my team from all of the other “noise”.  That sometimes means inefficiencies.  I want to ensure that we use Gong to work smarter, not harder.

I’m currently working on the Foundations Course to get up to speed on best practices and drive positive outcomes for our team and for our customers. Wouldn’t hurt to have better insights and visibility to report to our executives, as well.

Currenty coaching by reviewing call recordings, leveraging AI for account health and next steps, utilizing deal health features for reporting and strategy, etc.
