As promised, here are tips to help you leverage Gong to get more efficiency and effectiveness from your tech stack. 

 

Integrations:

Integrations are a critical part of what makes Gong great. We partner with the best-in-class tech companies around the world to offer our raving fans an incredible experience with even more powerful results when they connect Gong with their tech stack. 

Gong has the highest number of most relevant tech integrations.

More integrations=more stickiness

 

Salesforce Integration:

Salesforce integrations help you get more of your investment in Salesforce technology: 

pipeline increase, richer data, reporting, and collaboration. The integration offers the best data orchestration and allows you to enrich your other systems.

Example:

Imagine you had one deal timeline where you can see everything that your rep talked about with your customer AND you could see when they sent the Proposify proposal for signature?

What if you can collaborate on a specific moment on a deal directly from slack?

It’s possible, but because we can’t talk about all of our integrations we’ll focus on one that is particularly important - Salesforce.

 

Why do you need data in both?

Gong and Salesforce have a symbiotic relationship. Like bees gather nectar from flowers, which they make into food, so does Gong gather data from Salesforce, which it “makes” into actionable insights. 

Gong and Salesforce are both strong tools and have different strengths that complement each other. 

Example: 

Gong has Deal Boards which are an organized timeline of all deals with all interactions, warnings, and activities. You can see exactly what happened when drilling down into specific activities and collaborating with your team.

Salesforce’s reporting capabilities, especially in tools like Tableau CRM, are more flexible than Gong’s, not to mention there are data elements you sometimes need for reporting, which aren’t found on Gong.

 

Increase Pipeline Management and Productivity

Many of our customers who use salesforce along with Gong report major benefits in productivity and time savings for their sales teams. Another interesting thing customers reported on was that with Gong they have more opportunities in the system and overall better visibility, which improves pipeline management and forecasting. 

 

Time-Saving - Reallocate Time to Increase Forecasting Accuracy 

Reps spend a large portion of their time manually entering data into Salesforce. Taking notes and updating their managers to the point where they are less likely to update Salesforce even if it’s for logging an opportunity because it doesn’t give them much value back. With Gong, reps are able to reap the benefits of Salesforce, along with data organization, and conversation data without requiring them to take notes. This frees up time so they are able to update an opportunity into Salesforce.

Internally at Gong, we use the enriched Salesforce data that is automatically generated via the Gong appexchange app, to get insights from it with more sophisticated tools like Tableau. 

 

RevOps Challenges

Software Overload - Marketing and sales teams have some of the largest and most fragmented software stacks. According to our State of automation research, teams across the go-to-market landscape are typically running more than 100 different apps.

More manual work - All of these apps are a maintenance challenge in and of themselves, but they also create a ton of manual work. Teams spend way too much time on spreadsheets and manual entry, uploading, routing, and deduping leads, handling order flow and approvals, and manual follow-ups for retention and expansion.
