Roundtable Discussion on Forecasting with Gong

Hi Visioneers! I am going to be hosting a Roundtable discussion with the topic Failing at Forecasting? Fix it with Gong. I am looking for a few volunteers who use Gong Forecasting to join us on our panel to share their insights and best practices. We are aiming to have this during the 3rd week of September. To be transparent, while my company GTM Advisors is a Gong certified partner, this is not a Roundtable hosted by Gong. It’s hosted by GTM Advisors. Our goal is share with the broader community the benefits of Gong Forecasting and how Gong is so much more than a call recording platform. If anyone is interested in joining us on the panel please let me know :)

Gong Upgrade to 2.28

I have upgraded from 2.26 to 2.28 this morning following this guide, Upgrade Gong for Salesforce – Gong Help Center. In Salesforce, the Gong installed package shows me that it has upgraded to 2.28 and I have added the two new fields to the Conversation object as prescribed. In Gong though, under the Salesforce integration information, I still see version 2.26 and it is still prompting me to upgrade to 2.28. I have logged out and logged back in multiple times now for the past 2 hours, but still seem the same. Is there something else I need to do within Gong?

Duplicate Salesforce Tasks

Gong is creating multiple tasks for emails sent to multiple recipients, one task per recipient. This is inflating our activity metrics and I haven’t found a way to group unique emails together to solve for this. Does Gong offer a solution? Is it possible to create a single task and associate it with multiple contacts instead. I know this is possible from a Salesforce perspective. Or create a Unique Email ID for each unique email or a similar field I can group off of.

Use Gong snippets or transcripts for customer testimonials

I have a question that I wanted to ask the community in terms of how we can use Gong snippets or transcripts in order to convert them into customer testimonials that are of course anonymizedHas anybody considered and addressed whether there are any legal implications if we just create customer testimonials from actual Gong transcripts/video/audio, and we use them for different videos and other social media and marketing purposes?For example, the Gong CEO himself has done that here and I remember one post where he did it with sound, I just can’t find it:https://www.linkedin.com/posts/amitbendov_airocks-lastmoveradvantage-activity-7079017597932847104-fJpt/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=member_desktopDo we need to get any special permission to do that? Even though we will not be sharing any other information like the person who said it or the company they represent. Automating email to prospect based on a call in taking place in Gong

We're wondering if it's possible to set up an automated email to go out through Gong's email editor to a prospect once a demo call has been completed by a specific user. We'd like to know if this is possible through the Gong software directly or if that isn't possible, through the Salesloft integration and/or the SFDC integrationComments from our CSM were: At this time Gong does not send out auto-emails. I'm not aware of any other software that does this and is triggered immediately after a call in a certain stage. Here at Gong if we are ever sending out auto emails I believe we typically send through Gainsight however the trigger isn't based on a stage of an opportunity but just a customer list. If this isn’t possible through Gong, what strategies have you used to automate emails to prospects?

I don't see the Recording Content option on my company settings page

I want to add an audio-prompt when a caller joins my Zoom call to inform them they are being recording by Gong (we call it the Pryon Note Taker). When I click on the company settings, i dont see a recording content section per what the support materials outline. Anyone know what I may be doing incorrectly? Thanks, Anita

Keep getting "invalid_grant" for API calls

Our customers can connect their Gong to our platform 0 inorder to fetch meeting and recording information and show it to their customers. From time to time, some of the integrations stop working and we start getting "invalid_grant" in the response. Most of the integrations keep going for long time, while others are suffering from this issue.Any ideas what we should do to solve it?

Add time to close to a deal board?

Hi all, I am trying to understand the # of days from when an opp was created to when it closed using the on the Deal Board. I can’t seem to figure out a way to do this -- I cannot add a column for days to close and can’t export the data from the Deal Board to do this manually. Any recommendations? For more context, I’m trying to understand at a rep level how the # of days to close a deal varies depending on the size of the account. Open to other suggestions to accomplish this. Thanks for reading and any advice

Smart Trackers- Deep Dive

I am working to improve my smart trackers as I am finding the results to be a bit lower than expected (and, of course, much lower than the sales reps believe it should be). I have tried the keywords trackers but find them to be a bit more inaccurate and the smart trackers provide more intuition and context with AI to help hone in on the messaging. My question(s) are: do you find it to be more constructive to use more words/phrases or less words/phrases? And is there any way to exclude words/phrases so that certain context or combinations are not tracked?Any and all help with this is appreciated.

Slide Title Filter Question

When using a pitch deck filter, one of the options under the slide titles says •    Don’t contain the term •    Contain the term, and are shown for this long  Does anyone know if the option “Don’t contain the term” refers to the titles of the slides not being mentioned but are shown?  What is it referencing?

Permission Profiles for API requests - What's Allowed?

Hi there, we recently set up an integration so our users can connect to Gong to fetch their calls in our platform.However this only works for technical admins. Is there any documentation around how to enable this for other Permission Profiles or is it that only technical admins are allowed to use the Gong API?

I’m trying to use Zapier to push CRM data to Gong using the API.  It requires a POST using multipart/form-data Content Type.  How do I format a Zapier webhook POST to make this work?  I keep getting “dataFile part is missing (HTTP Status Code: 400)”Here’s what I’m sending in Data:

Uploading calls for all team members - required permission set?

I am a System Administrator for my company, and we are trying to upload calls for two given users from another system to Gong. I noticed I do not have the correct permission set to do so, as the option is greyed out. Does this require a professional seat to do?

What Happened to Gong Assists?

I understand Gong Assists has turned into Gong Engage. However, what happened to the Assists where Gong suggested reaching out to a contact? In the S1 E2 of How Visioneers Use Gong, the guest talks about starting his day in Gong Assists to see what’s going on. Is this no longer a capability?

Is there a way to capture how long someone spoke about a tracker

I have created a tracker and now want to know how much of the total conversation or the total amount of time each CS rep spent discussion this complicated topic. How would you go about setting up that measurement.

Count number of pins after conversation search

Once you have create a search in the conversation page is there a way to count the number of pins are associated with each conversation or participant and report out on that. So for example if we have a tracker about askingn questions in a conversation I would ike to know how many times the host asked questions.

Filter by Deal Name?

Hello,There is an initiative in my organization that I want to track via Opportunity name. I noticed that the Deal Dashboard has a locked column for Deal name. Is there a way to filter this column or find an alternative method to track initiatives using Opportunity name? Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Tracking Email Feedback Given in Gong

I’m looking to use Gong for both call coaching and email feedback but I don’t see a way to aggregate all of the email feedback I’ve given in the tool.Is it possible to aggregate all email feedback per individual on my team? If so, what’s the correct way to create a view that shows what email feedback I’ve given and when the last date of feedback was?Thank you!

Set up a developer sandbox account as a non-customer?

Hi! We have some mutual customers who are requesting a Gong integration. We’re not Gong customers (we don’t have a sales process that requires it), but we need a sandbox account to test the integration.  The Integration Partner guide seems to require having an existing Gong account; is it possible to get a sandbox account without being a customer, to build for mutual customers?
