Hi All,Has anyone figured out a way to block the question rate metric in Gong from counting phrases like “do you have any questions?” or “how’s the weather by you?”. It’s an important metric and I’d love to get as close to a real number as possible. Thanks!Courtney
Does anyone use Gong to connect with Salesforce person accounts. I’m having issues connecting conversations to Person Accounts. Anyone have experiences to share?
Hi there - I have 2 accounts (and each with their own opportunity), and am seeing an email communication with a contact at one account is showing up on the activity timeline for both accounts. I’ve checked salesforce to confirm that the contact is only related to a single account. Is there a way to manually unassociate this contact and activity from the incorrect account in Gong? thanks!
Thanks to everyone that attended, contributed and played Jeopardy! during last week’s meetup. Yes, we had a lot of fun playing Jeopardy! If you missed the meetup you can access it here. Our meetup was focused on up-leveling your insight in Gong without ever leaving Gong, using: Win/Loss Market Insights Call Categories Smart Trackers (new!) Deals Initiatives (new feature!) Deal Drivers Takeaways: The launch of so many Insights in addition to long standing favorites like Win/Loss, diminishes the need to export data to spreadsheets or a BI tool. People, especially those that are new to Gong, are not 100% aware of all the available Insights. This was especially true for Whisper for Topics. Call To Action:Play along and listen to the call. Have fun playing Jeopardy! while learning. Register for next month’s meetup, where we plan to have a customer tell us how they are driving success using Gong. Are you noticing that your screen-shares and presentations aren’t showing on the “Call page” in Gong? Are you importing your web conferencing calls from Zoom into Gong manually? If you answered yes to both of these questions, Gong is working as intended. When you manually import calls into Gong, the video and audio are uploaded but the screen-shares and presentations aren’t. To ensure that screen-shares and presentations are uploaded into Gong: 1) If you’re using the native Zoom integration, manually hit “Record to cloud” in Zoom. If there’s an associated calendar event for the call, we’ll import it. 2) If you’re not using native Zoom, add “assistant@gong.io” to the calendar event as a participant. Both of these will record your call(s) and automatically upload your video, audio, and presentations into Gong!
Hi there, I am new to Gong and loving it! Something I can’t figure out though - is there a way that as a Manager / administrator I can mark one of my team member’s recordings as “private” so that it does not get shared with the broader team? It appears the only way to do this is if the team member is the one that marks it private. Is there not a setting or something that a Gong admin could do this? Or another alternative to be able to keep a recording in Gong to provide coaching and feedback to the individual, without sharing with the entire team? Thanks!
If your Hubspot deals aren’t appearing in Gong, check two things: Is the deal owner’s email address the same in Gong and Hubspot? Does the deal have a parent account associated with it in Hubspot? If you answered yes to both and the deals still aren’t appearing in Gong, grab a screenshot of a missing deal, then copy/paste the screenshot and the deal’s ID into an email, and send it to our Support team here. They’ll investigate further!
Hello - Can someone explain to me the number of contacts associated with deals and where it comes from. In salesforce we have one name associated with an opportunity then of course there are others on the account. In some of the deals I see in Gong I see 0 contacts, some show 1 and others show multiple. I am trying to confirm 100% the source of truth for the contact data. Is it pulling from the opportunity in SF, or the account or is it something else/different? Thanks, Joe
Are you running into snags while installing Gong for Salesforce? In your company settings, under CRM > Select Salesforce > click the Install button under Gong for Salesforce. Didn’t work? Go ahead and click the Install button in incognito mode. Here’s how: Open Google Chrome. The easiest way to open an incognito window is with the keyboard shortcut combination Ctrl-Shift-N (Windows) or Command-Shift-N (macOS). OR you can click on the the three vertical dots in the upper right-hand corner of your screen and select New Incognito Window from the list. After you install it in incognito mode, refresh the page. It may take some to sync with your CRM!Having issues with Appexchange? Here is the direct link to Gong for Salesforce V. 2.25
Hello,I am using deal boards more and more and find them to be a MUCH better way to track deals and review pipe. One area I have not figured out about the integration with Salesforce is related to logged calls. I have several deals with warnings showing up for a lack of activity but when I go into salesforce I can see that my sellers are logged calls where they leave VMs (for ex). So I can see the activity but that is not funneling through into Gong and as a result my reps are seeing warnings when they are not really needed. More so it causes a lack of trust in the data. Is there any way to track this type of activity in Gong? Thanks,Joe
Are you trying to sync the calendar events for your “Additional email addresses” in Gong? If your calendar integration (Google Workspace or Microsoft 365) is set to “Company-wide connection”, Gong will only sync your “Primary email address”. If you would like to sync a different email address with Gong: 1) You can switch your “Primary email address” in “My Profile”. For more information, check out our article here!2) You can move your calendar events from your “Additional emails addresses” to the “Primary email address'' you have connected to Gong. For more information on how to do that, check out the following link: Transfer Google calendars or events.

How can I tell if others at my company have viewed my meeting recordings?
Hello Gong Community, My name is Sara and I am an Enterprise CSM here at Gong. If you are a Program Manager who tracks adoption and usage of Gong - I have a tool to add into your Program Manager toolbox when it comes to understanding how your tell feels about Gong (outside of just looking at the adoption numbers!) Some of my best customers are always asking for creative ways to seek out or get ahead of any adoption gaps - especially when they:Are new to Gong or Expanding Gong to a new team Get an unfiltered voice of how their teams are liking Gong Looking to identify where they (as a program manager) can fill any gaps to unlock more value in Gong.In fact, one of my customers has shared a helpful Google Survey out as a way to get anonymous feedback from their teams, which will in turn - allow you, their program manager, pivot or adjust prioties when it comes to Gong.Check it out below and let me know what you think? Also… if you have any creative ways you are asking for feedback from you
Is your team member trying to add a “Gong Meeting” to a calendar event, but getting an error message? Make sure they’re at least a Standard Team Member in Gong. Check that you’ve added a personal meeting room link in “My Profile”. Ensure that you have the Gong add-on installed. Check out our article here!
Hello world! My team is interested in using applied data / decision science to derive more value from Gong. For us, the starting point is understanding how adherence to a repeatable / prescribed sales process relates to different business outcomes.Where are other folks in the community finding success using applied data / decision science with data from Gong?
GAP Selling is an increasingly popular sales methodology that relies on closing a gap between your prospect’s current and future state. If your team has recently switched to GAP Selling, or are thinking about it, fear not - Gong can help!Configuring Gong after adopting new messaging is crucial in tracking its adoption and success. As a CSM here at Gong, the first place I suggest my customers start is Trackers. For GAP Selling, I suggest breaking your Trackers into 6 pieces: Current State, Problem, Root Cause, Emotion, Future State, and Solution. Feel free to leverage GONG’s Guide to Gap Selling and the base Trackers below. Do not forget to customize these trackers further for your industry, product names, product value, discovery questions, and use cases!GAP SELLING Current State:current state, doing currently, doing now, have in place, have set up currently, have today, looks like today, process look like today, process today, program in place, tell me about what that looks like now,

If your team notices a widespread issue, check the status page to see if it’s a system-wide issue at Gong. We keep this page up to date with ongoing outages. You can also select “Subscribe to updates” at the top to get notifications when an outage occurs.
We record calls using predominantly Zoom, but also Google Meet. Is there a way for reps to take notes during calls and to push these into HubSpot? To add another layer, if that call is a Discovery call can reps take notes in accordance to MEDDPICC? Looking for a smart way to get all that into HubSpot. Thanks
Scorecards create visibility that benefits reps, managers, the team, and the organization at large. Scorecards are a great way to: Gauge how individual reps are performing and where they need help Understand overall patterns across the organization Create a positive rep-manager coaching culture 3 factors that make Scorecards successful A manager’s commitment to score calls regularly is key. Sporadic scoring is not effective. A rep's commitment to embrace the feedback as input to improve is a must.
